Michael Learns To Rock - You Took My Heart Away [Official Video] (with L...

Let's get a little bit poetic today!

हरति इति हरिः  (harati iti hariH)  He who takes away is Hari.

हरति इति हरः (harati iti haraH) He who takes away is Hara.

Technically there is no difference between the word Hari and Hara.
Hari(Vishnu) and Hara(Shiva).

Now, so what do Vishnu and Shiva take away from us?
Well, this is up to us to decide how we want to fill in the blanks.

Hari and Hara can take away our ignorance and sins.
Hari and Hara can also take our heart and mind away in a captivating manner ever so beautifully.

So you can sing..."Hari and Hara, You Took My Heart Away"

Today let's take a look at the ancestor of almost all scripts of the Indian languages be it North Indian or South Indian.
The Brahmi script is the ancestor of almost all written scripts in India including the Devanagari script.
In Devanagari we write the word Boy as बालकः(bAlakaH) and the pic attached above is how its written in Brahmi.

Any guess what is written in the above image?
Well its the word बालकः(bAlakAH) meaning  a boy in Sanskrit.

The script used in the image is called Grantham Lipi and it was also used to write Sanskrit in the past and is older than the current Devanagari script and many Agama Shastra texts were written in Grantham script.

Its an interesting script though not much in use these days but worth knowing to increase one's knowledge of ancient scripts.
