एकं ब्रह्म द्वितीय नास्ति नेह ना नास्ति किंचन
(ekam brahma dvitIya nAsti neha nA nAsti kincana)
There is only one(brahma as in Absolute Reality), not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit.
*Kindly note there is no usage of "you or I or who " etc in the statement from Brahma Sutras but you would find the usage of both affirmation and negation.
In any religion the Highest statements are always both Affirmation and Negation.
Simple way to remember this is the feeling of being in love! In early stages of romance we usually say "I love ONLY you and no one else"(but we tend to repeat this again and again when we meet someone new!LOL)
So the pattern is always Affirmation and Negation.. as long duality exists we cant run away from Polar Opposites.
What lies beyond that? Now that is the biggest unanswered question which even the Nasadiya Shukta asks about creation:
"इयं विसृष्टिर्यत आबभूव यदि वा दधे यदि वा न |
यो अस्याध्यक्षः परमे व्योमन्त्सो अङ्ग वेद यदि वा न वेद ॥
Whence all creation had its origin,
the creator, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not,
the creator, who surveys it all from highest heaven,
he knows — or maybe even he does not know
So finally to know the Absolutely Reality we need to know LOVE!
