Bruno Mars - Marry you

 How can I marry you??

यस्य  षष्ठी चतुर्थी च विहस्य च विहाय च ।
यस्याहं च द्वितीया स्यात् द्वितीया स्यामहं कथम॥

yasya SaSThI caturthI ca vihasya ca vihAya ca |
yasyAhaM ca dvitIyA syAt dvitIyA syAmahaM katham||

How can I be a second to himद्वितीया(dvitIyA)(be a wife to him) who says विहस्य(vihasya) is the 6th Vibhakti and विहाय (vihAya) is the 4th Vibhakti?

So how can I marry you?

विहस्य(vihasya) means Having smiled.

विहाय (vihAya) means Except.

One who knows the Noun declension of the अकारान्तः(masculine words ending with अ would know that the 6th case ending of an अकारान्तः for eg रामः(rAmaH) is रामस्य(rAmasya)(belonging to rAmaH)

and the 4th case ending of रामः(rAmaH) is रामाय(rAmAya)(for rAmaH)

विहस्य(vihasya) looks similar to the pattern of रामस्य(rAmasya) but its not so because विहस्य(vihasya)

means Having smiled.

विहाय (vihAya) looks similar to the pattern of रामाय(rAmAya) but its not so because विहाय (vihAya) means Except.

So what has it got to do with marriage.

The story goes that a certain girl was very intelligent and well versed in Sanskrit and asked her prospective groom this question and he got it all wrong because he only knew the Noun declension of the अकारान्तः and based everything on that alone.

So she did not marry him!

Strange girl to reject a man for not knowing Sanskrit??
