Nau Sau Chuhe Khakar Billi Haj Ko Chali.
There is a saying in Hindi that goes... "The cat ate 900 mice and went on a pilgrimage"
Its pokes fun on those who cover up their questionable acts by acting holy.
So let's learn about the word Mouse today.
Mouse in Sanskrit is called मूषकः(mUSakaH).
Even a rat is called मूषकः(mUSakaH).
Though there are many other words for mouse..मूषकः(mUSakaH) is the most commonly used.
Another interesting name for a mouse is बिलकारिन् (bilakArin).
This name denotes the ability of the mouse to gnaw and make holes.
Since मूषकः(mUSakaH) is so commonly used for mouse and rat so if you actually want to call someone a rat and you do not want anyone to know what you mean, you can always call them बिलकारिन् (bilakArin).
