धवः(dhavaH) (Husband).
Today we will talk about Husband!
Before that feminists out there don't get all worked up reading what Chanakya wrote about salvation for woman.
Ok..brace yourselves babes...here goes.
Chanakya Neeti says:
स्त्री दान दे कर, उपवास रख कर और पवित्र जल का पान करके पावन नहीं हो सकती. वह पति के चरणों को धोने से और ऐसे जल का पान करने से शुद्ध होती है.(Hindi translation)
"A woman does not become holy by offering charity, by observing hundreds of fasts, or by sipping sacred water, as by sipping the water used to wash her husband’s feet."...Chanakya Neeti.
So don't waste time on spirituality mumbo jumbo just worship the God in human form at home! The Husband!
Anyway lets get to the word of the day.
धवः(dhava) means Husband.
Most of us must have heard the word माधवः(mAdhavaH) which is a combination of two words:
मा(mA) and धवः(dhava).
मा(mA) is one of the names of Goddess Lakshmi.
Lets put the words together...माधवः(mAdhavaH) means Husband of mA(Lakshmi)..therefore it refers to Lord Vishnu and since Lord Krishna is the Avatar of Lord Vishnu, He is also called mAdhavaH.
Last but not least...don't forget to do what Chanakaya recommended!
Remember..the Tamilians got it right when they said "Kanavaney Kankanda Deivam" (English: Husband is a Palpable God)
