Let's take a look at Sanskrit names of a few animals
सिंहः (siMhaH)......Lion
मयूरः (mayUraH).....Peacock
काकः (kAkaH)...Crow
गजः (gajaH)..Elephant
कपोतः (kapotaH)...Pigeon
Now what do all these animals have in common?
All of them have to eat in order to survive!
So what's the verb for "To Eat"?
To Eat is खादति (khAdati)
Therefore :
सिंहः खादति (siMhaH khAdati)...The Lion Eats.
