Vodka?
The April 2018 issue of Sambhashana Sandesha Sanskrit Magazine had an interesting comparison between Sanskrit and a few other Indo-European languages.
One of it was Croatian..comparing the similar words of Sanskrit and Croatian.
What seemed interesting is the word for water.
Sanskrit has many words for Water.
One of it is udaka (उदक) ,the article states that one of the words in Croatian for water is vodaka which is supposed to have originated from Sanskrit due to being in the same Indo-European group of languages.
Now the striking thing is...udaka in Sanskrit---- vodaka in Croatian and sounds very much like the alcoholic drink VODKA! which interestingly enough also stems from the Russian word voda meaning water.
It makes me wonder!
